Alex Alvarez Jr. is a recognized thought leader and expert in Supply Chain in areas such as procurement and supplier diversity.

Alex co-led Apple to Best In Class, Billion Dollar Roundtable and winning several top awards including NMSDC Corporation of the Year for Innovation.

Alex has nearly 20 years experience as a change agent primarily in supply chain, procurement and supplier diversity.

Alex is recognized for procurement transformation efforts and building out, leading and revamping Supplier Diversity for four Fortune 500 (First American, Core Logic, Direct Energy and Apple) or equivalent companies. As President & CEO, he led the South Region Minority Supplier Development Council and Alabama Minority Business Opportunity Center to national distinction.  Alex leads the Technology Industry Group (TIG) driving change and strategy while advocating for diverse businesses to become strategic partners in the global economy for major technology companies.

Alex is a frequent speaker and panelist on supplier diversity.  Alex holds a master’s degree in business administration from Wayne State University and a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from Michigan State University. Alex is a lean six-sigma black belt possesses 9 professional certifications in supply chain and diversity and inclusion such as the Cornell Certified Diversity Professional Advanced Practioner (CCDP/AP) and has completed executive education at Cornell and Dartmouth University.
