Colleen H. Payne (President/CEO) and Sean D. Payne started Universal Adaptive Consulting Services, Inc (UACS) on January 1, 2004.

UACS is a Small, Woman-Owned DBE Technology firm located in the Greater Richmond, VA area.

Colleen and Sean bring over 50 years of in-depth experience in providing customized best practices and solutions in Accounting Methodology, Application Integration, Application and Systems Analysis, Security and Risk Assessment, System and Networking Operational Support, Audio Visual, and Supply Chain Management to successfully address their client’s requirements.

This experience also includes support to commercial organizations, government entities, and non-profit organizations in strategically planning and successfully implementing technologies to address or enhance operational performance to maximize their clients’ return on investment (ROI).

Giving back to the community is part of Colleen’s personal mission as well as UACS’ mission. UACS provides scholarships to local and client universities as well as provides internships and mentorship to high school and higher education students interested in Accounting or Information Technology. Through community and industry partnerships, Colleen assists students with resume writing and mock interviews. In return, she advises the student to pay it forward.

UACS’ community and industry partnerships afford Colleen and UACS Senior Management the opportunity to participate on Professional Boards and Programs, namely ECPI University Industry Advisory Board; CompTIA TLS Community Board; and Partnership for the Future Program.

During the ECPI Industry Advisory Board quarterly meetings, UACS Senior Management along with other business leaders meet with ECPI Professors to review and discuss course curriculum and advise them of the current and future requirements for employment with the various firms. Through these meetings, ECPI shape their future curriculum to incorporate these requirements.

Colleen is a member of the CompTIA TLS Community Board which gives her the opportunity to make a difference by reaching out to one person at a time. In addition, she utilizes her talent and experience to assist in developing new programs and policies. In turn, these programs and policies improve the CompTIA members’ user experience of the educational programs and technology service training offerings.

UACS is a Business Sponsor with the Partnership for the Future Mentorship Program. We host a High School Student intern for 3 consecutive summers and donates $1,000.00 annually to the student’s college scholarship fund which is awarded to them upon their high school graduation and matriculation to Higher Education. The student interns are integrated into the corporate environment as productive members of the company. They are assigned to projects and tasks and shadows SMEs to enhance their industry and corporate experience and provide real world knowledge for work after college.

UACS is a member VARNEX Small Business Community. We interact with industry manufacturers, Tier 1 Distribution Partner, and other small businesses to stay abreast of current and emerging technologies through networking events and conferences.

Colleen H. Payne & UACS have won several achievement awards to include Top 100 MBE in Maryland; American Business Women Association (Business Associate of the Year); NAACP Leadership Award; and Morgan State University Caught the Vison Award.

Colleen was born and raised in Detroit, MI. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Morehead State University (Kentucky) in May, 1987. She and her, husband Sean live in Glen Allen, VA with their dog, Samantha Mixalot Payne.
