Byron Dixon is the founder and CEO of antibacterial and antifungal brand Micro-Fresh®.
The award-winning company is now the ‘go-to’ freshness partner for leading retailers such as John Lewis, Debenhams, Next, Sainsbury’s, the Pentland Group (Kickers), Scruffs Workwear and Avon. It is also widely used by global innovators in the health and life sciences sector such as GlaxoSmithKline and Nuffield Health, and is featured in the Thermo Fisher Scientific catologue in the UK.
Before he launched Micro-Fresh®, Byron worked for the Danish shoe brand ECCO where he was responsible for all the finishing treatments at the company’s factories in Denmark, Indonesia, Thailand, Portugal, Slovakia and Italy. It was here that Byron developed a passion for overseas business, which led to the creation of his own company in 2006.
In 2013, Byron secured a place on the coveted Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK Programme, giving him invaluable lessons and new opportunities to grow the company, as well as sharing knowledge and experience with other up-and-coming entrepreneurs.
Byron has received several accolades for his work, and his entrepreneurship was recognized formally in 2018 with the award of an OBE for services to industry and innovation. Other recognition of his work includes MSDUK’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014, and listings in the Top 100 Rising Stars and Future Leaders in Leicestershire and the Top 200 Influential People of Leicestershire.
