Andra Rush, a Native American woman, is the founder; president and chief operating officer of the Rush Group, a Minority Business Enterprise, which includes Rush Trucking Corporation, Dakkota Integrated Systems, LLC and most recently Detroit Manufacturing Systems, LLC. This consortium of manufacturing, trucking, assembly and distribution is one of the largest Native American-owned businesses in the USA.
During his 2014 State of the Union address, President Barack Obama acknowledged Ms. Rush for creating manufacturing jobs in Detroit with the June 2012 opening of Detroit Manufacturing Systems, a joint venture with Faurecia North America–the first such plant opening in the city of Detroit in decades.
Ms. Rush holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in nursing, has three sons and is engaged in many community and charitable organizations.
